AI vs Human Writers: Do You Still Need to Hire a Writer in 2025?
The answer depends on you.
Do you have time to work with an AI system to generate the content you need?
Will you fact-check what it produces?
Do you care if your brand’s voice sounds robotic or generic?
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is all anyone talks about these days. What jobs will it replace? Will machines take over the Earth, etc..?
I don’t have a crystal ball to see the future, but I do know one thing: AI will never replace a good writer or content strategist.
AI as a Writing Tool — Not a Replacement
Yes, I use tools like ChatGPT to support my writing projects. SUPPORT is the keyword here.
But using AI effectively takes more strategy than ever.
AI produces generic content.
→ You want to stand out with a unique brand voice.
AI makes mistakes.
→ You’ll need to fact-check — a lot.
AI doesn’t know your audience.
→ It can’t draw from real conversations or experience.
If everyone uses the same formula, tone, and verbiage to create content, how will your brand stand out as unique and human?
And perhaps most importantly — how will AI-generated content help your site rank better in search results? Spoiler: it won’t.
How I Use AI to Enhance (Not Replace) My Writing Process
Here’s how I use AI as a content strategy tool — not a shortcut.
Pick a topic.
Ask AI for a draft. I include context like business type, location, and topic. (Example: “Write a blog post for a personal injury attorney in the San Francisco Bay Area about paying the attorney.”)
Copy the draft into my editing space.
Apply human strategy. I ask myself: What do clients care about most? What questions are they Googling? How can I make this sound authentic?
Edit and refine. Sometimes that means light edits; other times, it’s a total rewrite.
Use AI again for polish. I ask it to check grammar, SEO, and flow — then I review to ensure it still sounds human.
Add visuals. I might generate an image, but nothing beats a real photo — and not even AI can get around copyright laws.
Phew — just writing out that process is a lot! It proves AI isn’t replacing writers anytime soon. At best, it’s like a free editor available on demand.
Why Human Writers Still Matter
AI can help you brainstorm and speed up your workflow, but it can’t replace human perspective, empathy, or storytelling.
Human writers:
Capture nuance and emotion.
Understand brand identity and audience needs.
Build trust and authority through consistent tone
These are things no algorithm can replicate — at least not yet.
AI and Human Writers Coexist
So, writers — relax. You’ve got proof of your worth.
And businesses — think twice before relying solely on AI for your brand content. You might spend hours experimenting, realize it still takes strategy and editing, and ultimately circle back to hiring a real, breathing writer after all.
AI can support your content strategy, but only a human can make it connect.
